飽きることなく物思いにふけりながら眺め続けている古い植物図録がアトリエには何冊かあります。とある古本屋さんで見つけたものや、ある方から大切にしてくれるならと譲り受けたものなど、その本たちとの出会いは様々です。それらに収録されている幻想的な植物図は、本当に現実の標本を写したものだろうかと思うくらいに不思議な魅力にあふれていて、自然が生み出した珍奇な植物たちの色や形、生態のおもしろさは私の目や心に喜びを提供してきたのです。「zuroku」はそんな魅力的で見る者を虜にする古い植物図録がモデルです。

通気性のよい薄手の平織りコットン生地です。

There are several old botanical catalogs in my studio that I never tire of pondering and looking at. Some I found at a used bookstore, some were given to me by someone who said he would take good care of them, and others I have encountered in various ways. The fantastic botanical illustrations in these books are so fascinating and mysterious that I wonder if they are really real specimens copied from real life, and the interesting colors, shapes, and ecology of these rare plants created by nature have brought joy to my eyes and heart.　Zuroku means "botanical catalogue" in Japanese, and this fabric was inspired by such fascinating and captivating old botanical catalogues.
