絵本作家のレオ・レオニ（LeoLionni）が生み出した摩訶不思議な架空の植物たちを学術書の体裁でまことしやかに記述した幻想の博物誌「平行植物」という一冊の本があります。

記載されている植物たちはみな幻想的でユニークな形状をし、名前も美しくて神秘的。
その定義は「時空のあわい(間)に棲みわれらの知覚を退ける植物群」とあります。
頁をめくるごとに摩訶不思議な空想世界へと誘ってくれます。

そんな「平行植物」の不思議な読後感を愉しみつつペンをとり、
架空の植物たちが真夜中から明け方のあわい(間)に、活き活きと動き出す様を描きました。

名前は"awai（間）"と名付けました。

about “awai”
Do you know the book "Parallel Plants" by Leo Lionni?　It is a natural history of fantasy in the style of a scholarly book, in which Leo Leoni describes his mysterious and fictional plants in the style of a scientific book.

The plants described in the book all have fantastic and unique shapes, and their names are beautiful and mysterious.
The book defines parallel plants as "a group of plants that dwell in the interstices of time and space and defy our perception.
Every page you turn leads you to a mysterious imaginary world.

I took up my pen while enjoying the strange feeling of reading "Parallel Plants.
I drew the imaginary plants that come to life between midnight and dawn.

I named it "awai" (between). A thin, plain weave cotton comfy fabric.
