zuroku
There are several old botanical catalogs in my studio that I never tire of pondering and looking at. Some I found at a used bookstore, some were given to me by someone who said he would take good care of them, and others I have encountered in various ways. The fantastic botanical illustrations in these books are so fascinating and mysterious that I wonder if they are really real specimens copied from real life, and the interesting colors, shapes, and ecology of these rare plants created by nature have brought joy to my eyes and heart.　Zuroku means "botanical catalogue" in Japanese, and this fabric was inspired by such fascinating and captivating old botanical catalogues.
